Porterville Adult Day Services (PADS)

PADS’ vision is to provide services honoring choice, dignity, independence and quality of life. PADS’ Daycares’ mission is to serve those adults who cannot stay home alone, including those with Alzheimer’s disease and other related forms of dementia, AND to provide continuing support to the caregiver.

Adult Day Program (ADP)
PADS provides an Adult Day Program for adults age 18 years and older. PADS specializes in seniors 60 years and older who cannot stay home alone and are in need of personal care services or supervision or assistance with sustaining the activities of daily living. The primary purpose of the Adult Day Program is to prevent premature or inappropriate institutional placement of persons and to provide support services* and respite for caregivers.

Porterville Eldercare Resource Center (PERC)
PADS provides an Eldercare Resource Center with an extensive resource library and a resource clerk dedicated to serving the elderly and caregivers of the elderly. PERC provides this service also by networking with and supporting community-based services in providing information and assistance and referrals.

Alzheimer’s Day Care Resource Center (ADCRC)
PADS’ ADCRC provides a positive environment and care for persons with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias and a resource center. The primary purpose of the ADCRC is to prevent premature or inappropriate institutional placement of persons with moderate to severe levels of impairment due to dementia. The ADCRC also provides support services* and respite for caregivers.

The Alzheimer’s Day Care provides services that support the physical and psycho and social needs of its participants. The over all objective is to keep the participants as healthy and active as possible by helping them maintain their highest level of functioning. Persons who are diagnosed as having Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia are eligible to participate without regard to age or financial resources. Participants are requested to share in the cost of services on a sliding fee scale that is specific to each site.

The Alzheimer’s Resource Center provides an extensive resource library and supportive services* for caregivers who are responsible for someone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia.
